The 'Wolf River' apple is red and green and has a pale greenish-yellow ring around the peduncle. 'Wolf River' is more or less interesting to eat fresh, but it is all the rage after cooking. It is also a good candidate for dehydration and apple butter. The apple is sweet and has a touch of acidity; the longer it is left on the tree when the climate is cold, the more it develops its sugars. Excellent resistance to diseases.
