Zone 2a.
Self-fertile.
Dwarf cherry tree bearing large, dark red, sweet fruits harvested in mid-August and perfect for picking and eating fresh! Very rustic. Prune during the dormant period (end of March, beginning of April).
Spacing: Keep 3.7-4.6 m (12-15') between plants.
Depth: Dig a hole twice as wide as the root ball; loosen the soil at the bottom of the hole. Plant at the same depth as the cherry tree was in the pot.
Requirements: Full sun. Regular watering is essential, especially for young plants during periods of drought. Moist, rich, well-drained soil, pH 4.5 - 7.5.
Pests: Aphids, caterpillars.
Care: prune regularly every 2 years to prevent the plant from producing only on the last high stem. Sometimes you have to think about lowering it somewhat by choosing the right stems.
