An old variety, many also cultivate it in zone 3b. Makes a sweet, crunchy and aromatic apple. Firm apple, high concentration of pectin with a particular flavor; we like it or we don’t like it. Essential to incorporate into a cider, for pies or to eat fresh. Very late brown apple which keeps until January. Somewhat susceptible to bacterial blight and somewhat susceptible to scab.
