SELF-FERTILE
It's finally here - a real almond that can thrive in Zone 5, maybe even a very sheltered Zone 4! When we gained this potential fame, we asked ourselves a few questions. Can trees survive our winters? Will the nuts ripen here? Will the flavor be as good as it is “cracked”? From our own experience, with trees fruiting on several sites in Ontario, our answer is a resounding yes on all three aspects. The traits of high disease resistance and late flowering also seem to hold true, so we consider this to be “the real deal”! This intriguing variety is native to the mountains of northern Iran, finding its way to North America through an acquaintance of Kentucky nurseryman Cliff England named Javid Now it's your turn to enjoy!
