- Species: Pyrus pyrifolia (Asian pear, known as “apple-pear”)
 - Origin: Japan
 - Japanese name: Yoinashi = “good pear”
 - Type: deciduous fruit tree
 
🌳 Tree characteristics
- Habit: upright to slightly spreading
 - Adult size: 4 to 6 m (depending on rootstock)
 - Vigor: medium to strong
 - Hardiness: USDA zones 5 to 10 (withstands temperatures down to approx. –25°C)
 - Exposure: full sun
 - Soil: rich, light, well-drained, neutral to slightly acidic pH
 
🍏 Fruit
- Shape: round, apple-like
 - Skin: golden to reddish-brown, slightly russeted
 - Flesh: white, crisp, juicy
