Growing tips
Planting and care
-
Choose a sunny, sheltered location.
-
Use a strong trellis or other sturdy support.
-
Plant in moist, well-drained soil.
-
Prune in late winter or early spring to control growth and encourage flowering.
-
Watch for spreading underground suckers; this vine can become invasive in a garden.
If you're growing it in Quebec: winter hardiness and the length of the growing season are important considerations. A sheltered, sunny spot can help, but local winter conditions may limit reliable flowering.
