This evergreen rhododendron produces bright purple flower buds that open into flowers that are dark purple on the outside and pale purple on the inside. An adorable little rhododendron with small green leaves in summer, turning bronze in winter. Adding potting soil for acid-loving plants is essential for planting. A spring application of acidifying fertilizer is recommended. Avoid excessive watering. Mulch recommended.
