Small to medium-sized tree native to Asia and very hardy in Eastern Canada (zone 3b). It has been frequently planted in landscaping for several years because it is very resistant to urban conditions (salt, pollution, mechanical breakdown). It has superficial roots preferring dry soils. It produces clusters of small, rather decorative, dark blue, aromatic and inedible berries. It is definitely a beautiful and interesting shade tree for parks and public spaces. The tree does not require much care and there are no known diseases or harmful insects. However, it is classified as an undesirable species in several American states because it tends to multiply easily and take over other species. For the moment, it does not represent any threat in more northern climates.

IMPORTANT: We do not deliver trees 7' and over! (Nursery pickup only)
