A tree native to southern Ontario and the American Midwest, it is very hardy in our latitudes and grows up to zone 3a. It is a beautiful ornamental tree with its leaves and its rounded shape. It produces a cluster of white flowers in spring and then inedible brown ones inside a prickly husk. It is resistant to urban conditions and will give a lot of character in a park or on private land. Horse chestnut trees are very eye-catching and are very beautiful ornamental trees.
