The 'Timber' Hybrid Chestnut is actually a complex cross of very fast-growing American, European and Asian chestnut trees. The seeds come from Ontario in a major plantation in zone 4b. The trees are very vigorous and give good production. They are especially adaptable to zone 4a or 4b which makes it interesting. It is being tested in our plantation for the production of chestnuts. It is resistant to American chestnut blight.
