The pedunculate oak or English oak is a magnificent oak native to Europe where it is widely distributed. It is a good-sized tree that is very adaptable and versatile. It is more than excellent for windbreak or odor barrier projects because it has the ability to keep its leaves even in winter. It grows very quickly; probably the fastest growing adaptable oak in southern Quebec. It can be used as windbreak hedges, odor barriers, for ornament or for the production of quality wood. It has a strong tendency to keep its leaves throughout the winter, much like white oak in the first 30 years and beyond. Its small lobed leaves are pretty but are not very colorful in autumn. It is not uncommon to see pedunculate oaks with leaves still green towards the end of November. We produce natural type pedunculate oaks and those with the “fastigiata” type.

Consult its very detailed technical sheet for more information.
