The shrub has evergreen leaves and does not exceed 30 cm in height. Properly cultivated, this plant can live for 100 years. Its thin, creeping branches can reach a size of 80 cm. Its small, oval flowers, pink at the beginning of flowering, grow towards the ground and resemble a crane's head. Cranberry berries are red and about 2 cm in diameter. The preserved fruit is rich in vitamin C and antioxidants.
The 'Erntesegan' variety is popular for northern regions. The fruit is large, round, with a bright red color. Its foliage is light green which turns reddish in winter. Its harvest period is mid-season, it produces fruits of 1.52 gr.
