This species practically does not need any information since it is known and present on numerous flowerbeds throughout Eastern Canada. It is a species of conifer that is native to the western United States. The tree is remarkable for its bluish needles, present on the annual growth of its branches. Its short, sharp needles are quite prickly and leathery. It is a slow-growing tree, with a harmonious shape, often perfectly conical and uniform, which can reach 20 to 30 m and two to three hundred years old. It grows better in heavy clay soils than light sandy soils. Rustic in zone 2b.
