Growing in pots
For growing in pots during the hot season on the balcony in a greenhouse or in your interior courtyard like all varieties of figs. dormant period required between -2°C and 4°C during winter.
'Brown Turkey' is a dull purple color but an excellent fig for quality, flavor and production. It is noted for being the hardiest fig, but not hardy enough for outdoor growing in zones 4 to 7. Ripening in early September.
Self-fertile
Sunlight: full sun.
Soil: Well drained. Does not tolerate excessively wet soil, but needs good humidity during fruiting.
Once established, fig trees are drought tolerant and generally free of pests and diseases.
