The Titania blackcurrant (Ribes nigrum) is a very productive variety, producing an abundant harvest of large black berries with a rich, fragrant flavor, ideal for juices, pies and jams. The Cassissier Titania offers good resistance to diseases and is less sensitive to spring frost.

The blackcurrant grows wild on the banks of streams and in swamps. It therefore requires always fresh soil. It tolerates limestone which even accentuates the expression of fruit aromas.
It is appropriate to bury the collar of the blackcurrants. This technique, in addition to protecting its fairly superficial roots, encourages the emergence of new shoots each year. When planting, adopt at least two different varieties to promote pollination. Space the cashiers 1.50 to 2 m apart.
The blackcurrant needs more winter cold than classic fruit trees.
