The Kolomikta genus is very hardy in our Canadian winters but tends to burst buds very early in the first heat of May, which places it in a risky zone for late frosts at the end of May. Remember to protect all your Kiwi plants when temperatures drop below 0°C towards the end of May.
Pruning: remove dead, broken or diseased stems early in spring. Then prune the secondary branches by pruning above the 3rd or 4th bud. The flowers will be on the stems of the year. Climbing plant that requires a very strong trellis.
