The seedlings of this hybrid walnut completely resistant to butternut canker are produced from a giant hybrid walnut tree producing very large and very full nuts. This variety is an intermediate closer to butternut but with better breakage and fewer cavities inside than butternut. The nut very often breaks into two beautiful pieces. Excellent alternative for those who are nostalgic for picking long or ash nuts in the fall.
Variety to try for sure and good hardiness in zone 4a. Plant 2 or more for optimal production.
