Asian cousin of the western catalpa, it produces smaller, light yellow flowers and much smaller pods. It is more hardy than Catalpa speciosa and grows in zone 3b. Recommended for ornament and for its attractive habit and uniqueness. It is a rare species to have because it is difficult to find in garden centers. Variety in trials at our nursery.
