The sugar pine is a large, majestic pine. At the beginning of its life, its growth is slow, but as soon as a space in the canopy presents itself, this growth accelerates. When mature, the sugar pine can reach a height of 70 m.
Sugar pine grows in northern regions and high mountain areas. It is very sensitive to temperature and prefers cool temperatures and good ventilation during the summer. High summer temperatures can harm Sugar Pine and even cause it to die. Proper shading and regular misting during the hot summer months can help it survive the season smoothly. It is very cold tolerant and does not require additional frost protection measures during the winter. However, before the first autumn frosts, it is recommended to water the plant generously so that the soil remains moist and freezes. This helps prevent drought and lack of water for the plant during winter and early spring.
