This is our wild walnut from Quebec. It is, along with the Manchurian walnut, the hardiest of the walnuts and produces an abundance of nuts with a rich, buttery taste. We guarantee that our seedlings come from two mature trees that are between 2 to 3 feet in diameter, over 60 years old and are healthy and free of traces of canker. These two trees grow in warm zone 4b in Mauricie. For the conservation of the species and to bank a good source of canker-resistant plants, we must continue to plant these magnificent trees and not give up the fight against the devastating microscopic fungus. The tree is recommended for nut orchards in regions that are colder in winter and rather cool in summer, such as Saguenay-Lac St-Jean or Gaspésie for example. It also produces beautiful wood.

It is important to replant this native Quebec species again for the survival of the species. Think about the forests of tomorrow!
