Philadelphus coronarius, the common Seringa or Poets' Jasmine, is a species of ornamental shrub in the Hydrangeaceae family. It withstands temperatures down to −40°C.
It grows in the form of a multitude of independent stems, without a common trunk. It appreciates soils rich in humus, in full sun or in a semi-shaded place.
Its spectacular flowering, in late spring or early summer, produces a profusion of flowers 3 to 4 centimeters in diameter, very fragrant, white, with yellow stamens and pistils.
