Haskap Borealis (Lonicera caerulea var. emphyllocalyx)

Haskap Borealis (Lonicera caerulea var. emphyllocalyx)

The exceptional flavor of its sweet, spicy fruits and the size of its large, fleshy and heavy fruits caught the attention of the hybridizer. This late cultivar offers firm fruits suitable for mechanized harvesting. The vigorous plant, resistant to mold and sunstroke, offers excellent yield for a later harvest period than the Indigo series.

It is 100% compatible with the Boréal Beast but can be compatible with the Honey Bee and the Indigo series. The berries of ‘Boreal Blizzard’ are firmer than those of ‘Indigo Gem’ and many growers harvest this variety mechanically but plan to harvest early in the morning before it gets too hot.
