Pluot is “interspecific,” meaning it is a complex 70% plum, 30% apricot hybrid with decidedly plummer. Also called plum, the fruit of a Pluot has a smooth skin like a plum, sturdy and durable with a succulent flavor. It has the amount of juice of a ripe plum without the notoriously tough skin and tart center typical of a plum. Characterized by its large size, vigorous, semi-spreading growth and is a productive and regular bearer of firm fruits, with yellow flesh and an adherent stone. An excellent source of vitamin A! The fruits tend to remain firm on the tree for 12 to 15 days after maturity, having excellent eating and storage quality.
