The Kent variety is the earliest and produces rather small fruits, quite sweet, with a flavor reminiscent of blackberries and blackcurrants. The branches are drooping at the first harvest.
The Canadian elderberry is a magnificent, productive and decorative shrub. It grows quickly and produces fruit in the fall. It is a self-fertile shrub that benefits from being grown alongside different cultivars. The fruit is edible cooked or dehydrated. The cultivars offered have the characteristics for interesting commercial production but also ornamental. It is often used as a natural coloring and in the manufacture of juice mixes.
The recommended spacing between plants is 2 meters.
