The Northern Pecan comes from sources in southern Wisconsin and northern Iowa, states in the American Midwest where the climate is similar to that of Ontario and southern Quebec with its long winters. and cold. It is the northernmost extension of the distribution area of the American pecan tree which produces the famous pecans on the market. The trees we produce come from the coldest sources. Its nut is about half the size of the standard pecan but even sweeter and its shell is thinner. Ideal in the greater Montreal region, it is adaptable to hot zone 4b in the south of Lanaudière, south of Outaouais, the south of the Laurentians, the south of Mauricie, in Montérégie. In our nut orchard, it has proven its hardiness in 4b because it tends to august quickly and the buds withstand severe cold. You can consult its technical sheet for more details on its potential hardiness and cultivation.
