A fast-growing, slender conifer whose branches assume an upright position over time. If the tree grows alone, the foliage of the branches remains full all the way to the bottom. The width reaches 4.5 - 7 m. The tree grows very similarly to the cultivar P. cembra, but P. peuce differs radically in having less stiff, less gray-green needles. Its bark is gray-brown and smooth and, at an older age, it exfoliates. At first, the young branches are shiny green. They turn gray-brown over time. The needles appear at their ends. They are gray green and rather thick, fasciculated 5 times. The tufts are arranged radially around the branches. The cylindrical cones are spreading or hanging, they are 8 - 15 cm long and 2 - 3 cm wide. They are isolated or grouped. They like a sunny location and are immune to woolly aphids.

Rustic in zone 5
