🌼 INTERESTS

  • Very good fruit potential: high-quality apples for fresh consumption or fruit salads.
  • Aesthetic appeal: spring blossoms, green foliage followed by autumn colors, visible fruit.
  • Suitable for medium-sized gardens thanks to its moderate size.
  • Versatile: ornamental + production.

🧤 CULTIVATION & MAINTENANCE

Planting

  • Choose a location in full sun.
  • Prepare the soil: loosen, enrich if necessary, ensure good drainage.
  • Plant when the soil is ready and stabilized.

Regular maintenance

  • Moderate watering, especially during the establishment period.
  • Mulch around the base to limit weeds and retain moisture.
  • Pruning: in early spring, remove dead, diseased, or overly old branches to encourage fruiting.
  • Fertilization: balanced fertilizer at the beginning of the season if the soil is poor.

Harvesting the fruit

  • Harvest around mid-September depending on the climate and region.
  • Apples keep fairly well if conditions are good.

⚠️ POINTS TO NOTE

  • Even though it is moderately sized, allow space for its spread (~4-5 m) to avoid conflicts with buildings or other plants.
  • Like many apple trees, good maintenance is necessary to prevent disease and pests.
  • Although partially self-fertile, production will be better if another compatible apple tree is present.
  • Make sure the soil is not too compact or poorly drained—this can limit the yield or health of the tree.

Hardiness Zones

  • 4a, 4b, 5a, 5b, 6a, 6b, 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b, 9a
