Independence Nectarine is a beautiful bright red nectarine with yellow freestone fruit. It is always a top finisher in taste test and is a very reliable producer. The tree and blossom buds are more winter and frost hardy than other varieties so it is a good choice for colder areas. The fruit is good for fresh eating, desserts, pies, canning and other preserves.
